The Australian Lowline Breed

Over the past 25 years Australian researchers have created an exciting new breed utilising the very best carcass and eating quality Angus genetics. Selection criteria included feed conversion, fertility and temperament.

Australian Lowline cattle produce meat with high eating qualities, which imparts excellent cooking. Their small size makes them particularly suitable in complementing and supporting alternative land-use systems or small-scale family farms.

Australian Lowlines:

  • Produce outstanding beef, flavoursome, tender, fine grained and juicy
  • Are of excellent temperament and easy to manage
  • Are efficient feeders making maximum use of available feed
  • Are small in stature, but beautifully conformed with excellent muscle and fat balance
  • Calves are small at birth but grow rapidly and mature early
  • Meet consumer demands for premium quality beef
  • Are suited to large and small holdings
  • Have the potential to provide significantly enhanced earnings for cattle producers
